As a Payroll and Benefits Administrator at Swift Financial, you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the payroll and benefits functions.  More specifically: 

Payroll:

  • Process all employee data transactions (new hires, changes, earnings, deductions, etc.)
  • Process time and attendance records from electronic files
  • Perform daily payroll functions
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reporting
  • Ensure accuracy and delivery of data file uploads to vendors for 40l(k), FSA, HSA
  • Audit and reconcile all personnel and payroll actions including payroll changes, payroll deductions, direct deposits, payroll taxes, etc. for completeness, accuracy and compliance
  • Develop in-depth understanding of Payroll System to create ad-hoc reporting on demand
  • Document, create and maintain Payroll Operations Processing Manual
  • Maintain understanding of all aspects of payroll laws and regulations
  • Work with managers and employees to ensure employee time records are complete and accurate on a timely basis 

Benefits:

  • Perform the day to day operational functions required for group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, FSA and HSA plans, and 401(k) plan
  • Coordinate benefits processing and tracking for enrollments, changes, terminations, COBRA
  • Processing and tracking of leave management administration – FLMA, Short- & Long- Term Disability
  • Liaise with our 3rd party benefits administrator to triage and troubleshoot with employees/managers
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files and updating of employee payroll records
  • Audit monthly billing for all benefits payments to ensure accuracy and timely payment
  • Perform Plan audits
  • Prepare, collect and organize data for census files for appropriate vendors
  • Participate in the new hire-onboarding program
  • Participate in and manage various aspects of the Benefits RFP process and annual Open Enrollment
  • May support other functional areas of Human Resources such as Compensation, HR System upgrades and new module implementation

Qualifications for success:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in payroll and benefits operations
  • Previous experience with ADP Payroll and Workforce Now or similar HR systems knowledge preferred
  • Must have previous working knowledge of payroll operations as well as payroll tax protocols
  • Must have previous working knowledge of benefits programs including, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, FMLA, and COBRA
  • Must provide high level of customer service and support to both internal and external clients
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to work under tight deadlines, with flexibility
  • Must be able to demonstrate professionalism and maintain complete confidentiality
